The Torker 1978 Price List

When I was working with John Johnson to put together the History of Torker piece, John told me Torker never really made catalogs or pamphlets. I know of one color pamphlet from around 1983, but I’ve only seen it posted somewhere online a while back. It was similar to the ads from the same time. They also made this catalog—really a price list—in 1978. John said it was the only one Torker produced and he wasn’t sure they ever released it. My favorite detail is that Torker planned to offer its new LP, as well as its other frames in gold and white. I’m pretty sure neither were produced. John told me he had had a garage sale a couple years before I contacted him where he sold a few bikes and parts. He said around the same time he threw away all the records he had. At the time, he believed no one cared about Torker. Much of Torker’s history was probably sold at the bankruptcy auction in 1984.

The catalog shows which manufacturers Torker was working with at the time—Shimano, Tange Seiki, MKS, Takagi in Japan, and MCS for stems—as well as gives a a good, albeit incomplete, look at what components were available at the time.
